The Farmers Market Coalition (FMC) | The mission of FMC is to strengthen farmers markets for the benefit of farmers, consumers, and communities. They serve as an information center for farmers’ markets, advocate for and promote North American farmers’ markets, foster strong state and regional farmers’ market associations, and provide educational programming and networking opportunities |
Farmers’ Market Legal Toolkit | Developed to support farmers markets throughout the U.S. with open-source legal tools to inform market managers as they make decisions to build and grow their markets. The specific topics covered in the Toolkit were selected in response to recurring questions from farmers market managers–about how business structure would affect their organizations, what types of legal risks exist and how to manage them, and how to make their products available and accessible for all community members. |
Fresh Access Bucks | Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) is a USDA funded statewide nutrition incentive program that increases the purchasing power of SNAP recipients to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at farmers markets, produce stands, CSAs, mobile markets, and community grocery outlets. FAB’s approach to addressing food access, affordability, and nutrition education aims to work with the entire food system: from producer to consumer to build healthy, resilient communities supported by robust local food systems. |
Florida Organic Growers | Florida Organic Growers educate producers, consumers, media, institutions and governments about the benefits of organic and sustainable agriculture, presenting at tours, conferences, workshops, classes and other educational opportunities. Topics include but not limited to organic and sustainable farming practices, local food systems, Farm Bill opportunities, certification options, marketing, social justice and opportunities and challenges in the organic marketplace. |
Agricultural Marketing Service – USDA | The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) administers programs that create domestic and international marketing opportunities for U.S. producers of food, fiber, and specialty crops. AMS also provides the agriculture industry with valuable services to ensure the quality and availability of wholesome food for consumers across the country and around the world. |
USDA Food and Nutrition Service | USDA-FNS | USDA-FNS’ mission is to increase food security and reduce hunger by providing children and low-income people access to food, a healthful diet and nutrition education in a way that supports American agriculture and inspires public confidence. |
